Who is Matthew Tarrant?

Matthew started rowing at Weybridge RC back in 2005 before moving up the river to Walton RC in 2007. Matthew earned his first GB vest competing at the 2007 Junior World Rowing Championships in the coxless pair and has since represented Great Britain every year for the past 15 years through Junior and U23 level up to his current position as one of the top athletes within the Senior Olympic team. 

To date, Matthew has competed at and won medals at the National Championships, University Championships, World University Championships, Junior World Championships, U23 World Championships, World Cup Regattas, Youth Olympics, European Championships, Henley Royal Regatta, Senior World Championships and formed part of the Team GB squad at both the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 and the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020/21.

Alongside rowing full time for Great Britain, Matthew is also an online coach training clients through RowElite which specialises in rowing and weights plans and Trained By Tarrant which specialises in Weights and Meal Plans.
