Today is the final of the Second World Cup of 2013 and Matthew's crew have been drawn in lane 6 with Australia in lane 5, New Zealand in lane 4, Romania in lane 3, Denmark in lane 2 and China in lane 1. The conditions of the day are a strong cross tail wind, slightly favouring Matthew's crew and Australia as conditions will grow progressively worse the further across the lake you are. 21/06/20013 - World Cup II

Today is the first day of the second World Rowing Cup of the 2013 season. The event is being held at Eton Dorney on the 2012 Olympic Lake, where Great Britain found much success last Summer. Matthew has raced many times on this course over the years, but never at an event with this level of elite competition. The conditions for today's racing seem to be be fairly even throughout with no lanes gaining a significant advantage over the others.
